Resident Evil 2019 (Review)


It is always a risky proposition to return any popular pop culture to the beloved, then receive the ‘cult classic’ status, and try to recreate it for the modern audience. For video games, this is a double-edged task, because the ever-evolving nature of the medium means not just the scenes. But the very mechanics, the way we experience, transform and enhance the content over the years. George Lucas is adding stages to the annoyed purists in Star Wars, without spoiling the holy triangle. But returning to a decades-old game like Resident Evil 2 and messing it up can remind players that the original was more frustrated and frustrated than they remembered.

The signature of raccoon police department building where many actions are taken is spectacular, with details such as blood missing footprints on marble floors, or remnants of hurriedly kit based barricades. Evidence of a massacre erupting in the city before your arrival – creating a dynamic atmospheric environment. General Chat Chat Lounge It’s even more cinematic, with story cutscenes that experiment with unique camera angles and perspectives to put the player in an uncomfortable mood. Meanwhile, new and reworked music with surprisingly effective sound design can surprisingly relieve stress.

Resident Evil 2 of 2019 is not an exact descriptive clone of its source – there are some tweaks, which affect character relationships and events. Changes are added to enhance what happened without completely derailing the story. With the traditional ability to play another character’s account once you’ve completed the game, you’ll find these changes in Leon and Claire’s campaigns. With a few surprising updates for returning fans, some other familiar modes will also be waiting on completion.

Some may complain that the overall challenge has been watering. The traditional method of ink ribbon required every time you want to save your progress on a typewriter is now limited only to the hardcore difficulty setting, while the simple ‘assisted’ mode also automatically regenerates a bit of health after doing good damage. Yet this strikes more as arrogant for returning players, with restrictions that they are already familiar with the rise to the standard. For anyone more interested in captivating puzzles than Resident Evil 2’s catchy-but-sticky storyline and its brutal survival-horror, it’s admirable.

This Resident Evil 2 is an upgrade that happened same while maintaining everything about the original and enhancing it with improved visual, sound and controls. These changes will shock anyone who played the role of death, but like the transformative experiments at the centre of the story, the end result is something stronger and more frightening than ever.
